What is Tag And Facet ?

TagAndFacet is a Windows application that helps users to manage the flow of information they are facing everyday.

Unlike search engines, Tag And Facet lets you, the user, take the initiative to associate your keywords or tags to any piece of information you would like.  You can use your own vocabulary, your own language to qualify a document.  Tag And Facet is UTF8 compatible so any character set scan be used to tag documents.  You can use as many keywords as you wish.  There is no limitation in the number of keywords used even in the Beta version.

Tag And Facet is integrated with Microsoft Outlook so you can associate tags to any email your have received or sent. 

Microsoft File Explorer Integration

Tag And Facet is integrated with the Windows File Explorer so you can associate any tag to any file what ever the format. It can a Word file, a text file, an Excel spreadsheet, it does n't matter.

As Tag And Facet is fully integrated after tagging, you can search for specific keywords and retrieve the emails, web pages, and files you have associated with this keyword.

Tag And Facet respects your privacy.  We keep things simple. We do not read your email to detrmine which keyword you would like to use, we just let you decide.  We don't read your files either; you choose your keywords freely.

Because when we have a high volume of information tags might not be just enough for qualifying the information we are handling.  Tag And Facet proposes a way to define categories. It is not mandatory, we call that a Facet.  It is just there if you want to use it.  An example of usage of Facet:  Let's take an accountant, he has decided to associate to every piece of information the name of the customer in addition to more specific tags.  Thus he has defined a Facet: Customer. Whenever he associates a customer name he  uses this Facet to indicate that this is a customer and not just another tag.

Some people have an ability to remember better  when something  happened  rather than the keyword they have used.  Thus you could use the Facet mechanism for associating a timestamp instead fo a keyword.   Some others remember better based on the actors.  TagAndFacet does not impose a way of organizing the information. It leaves the door open to multiple ways of retrieving the information in a single interface.

Tag And Facet does not enforce the way you organize yourself. It does not force to associate a single tag, nor a directory structure. You can use as many tags as you want, and as many facets as you want as well.
